A celebrity getting plastic surgery isn’t exactly groundbreaking news anymore. But one being honest about the hard work it takes to preserve a surgeon’s masterpiece? They’ve got our attention.
The median income of Plastic Surgeons in Beverly Hills is a pretty clear indication of just how popular the industry continues to be, and not just amongst Hollywood’s elite. But as it turns out, not every insecurity and body pressure can be stamped out (or cut out) on an operating table.
While transparency around what procedures stars have undergone is at an all-time high, not every plumped, toned and lifted celebrity is honest about what comes after the anaesthetic wears off. Spoiler alert, there’s a reason most celebrities have a few trainers on the payroll.
One particularly honest star has lifted the lid on the gruelling lengths she goes to to maintain her perfectly sculpted figure. Here’s everything Cardi B (and her team of trainers) does when she hits the gym.

Breaking down her routine
Say what you want about Cardi B, but the woman certainly can’t be accused of not committing to her fitness and figure. Earlier this year, Cardi posted a TikTok detailing her insane gym schedule.
From battle ropes to pull-ups, the rapper takes us through everything she does to maintain the figure routinely plastered across every major publication. Starting with a dynamic warm-up alongside her trainer, Cardi’s extensive gym session covers a mixture of cardio and weighted strength-based exercises. Plus, she does the whole thing wearing two-inch white acrylic nails.
The rapper and mother of two has also previously spoken about her rigorous daily stretching routine (a whole hour!) to maintain the flexibility she once had as a professional stripper.
Why she’s speaking out
The Grammy-award-winning rapper is no stranger to clapping back to criticism on the internet. From baring all about her past career as a stripper to her husband’s public infidelity scandal, Cardi B isn’t one to sweep confronting conversations under the rug.
Most recently, one X user’s snarky questioning of her commitment to working out sparked a response from the rapper, setting the record straight. The user claimed her gym workouts weren’t a genuine representation of how celebrities achieve their sculpted figure.
“If [celebrities and influencers] gain more weight they will just get surgery again,” they wrote in response to a gym clip the rapper shared to the same platform. In true Cardi fashion, she didn’t shy away from defending her workout routine.
“How vocal have I been about my procedures???,” she says. “The thing is I don’t gain weight much so I’m trying to gain MUSCLE cuz it’s hard for me to maintain fat.”
Not everything can be ‘topped up’
Her response then explains the concept of visceral fat, the ‘hidden’ fat wrapping the body’s organs that cannot so simply be removed with liposuction, saying the only thing you can do is ‘work it out’.

“THAT’S WHY YOU SEE POUCHES ON LIPO GIRLS. YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN IT!” She boldly says.
Yes, it’s true that a large number of cosmetic procedures are performed to ‘correct’ a person’s aesthetic insecurity. Still, the decision to embark on an operation of any kind is not made on a whim. Scheduling cosmetic surgeries as a ‘top-up’, like booking your bi-annual dentist appointment, could be the greatest gamble of your life.
Despite being able to afford any procedure in the book, even the world’s best surgeons and recovery techniques can’t shield you from the undeniable risks associated with major surgeries. So taking a lesson from the rapper, it’s important to understand that most cosmetic procedures should never be considered a ‘one-and-done’ solution.
